With more than 6,000 entries received from around the world, the Communicator Awards is the largest and most competitive awards program honoring creative excellence for communications professionals. Addison Whitney’s brand new corporate brochure won an Award of Excellence in the print design category and two additional pieces of work for Carnival Cruise Lines and Carient Heart & Vascular won Awards of Distinction in the same category.

On the heels of launching a new website in October 2013, Addison Whitney went on to develop refreshed corporate materials – both for Addison Whitney as well as Addison Whitney Health, the firm’s specialized healthcare division. The corporate brochures utilize vibrant colors, dynamic angles and original photography to strongly communicate Addison Whitney’s innovative, strategic mentality.
Addison Whitney’s ongoing work with Carnival Cruise Lines is a testament to our client-first mentality. One of the latest projects was for Carnival’s new on-board beer station. This logo embodies the carefree, tropical atmosphere of Carnival’s spirited mentality. The textures and colors come together to create a refreshing and cool backdrop for the type, which is inspired by craft brew labels.
The Carient Heart & Vascular project touched several teams at Addison Whitney, but here, we focus on the design work. With Carient’s focus on patient care, Addison Whitney created an icon comprised of four heart shapes, which come together to form a medical cross. The negative space in the center of the icon creates a bright burst of light, symbolizing life and positive outcomes. The overall look of the logo is modern and technical, yet inviting and soft.

The Communicator Awards are judged and overseen by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts (AIVA), a 600+ member organization of leading professionals from various disciplines of the visual arts dedicated to embracing progress and the evolving nature of traditional and interactive media.
