Expanding access with a brand built to awaken patient confidence

In 2025, Medtronic introduced a new tibial neuromodulation therapy to its pelvic health portfolio. But this wasn’t a typical launch. Success didn’t depend on taking share. It depended on building clarity around the expanded portfolio offerings. The goal was to expand the market, and inspire confidence in the full care pathway, without compromising InterStim’s leadership.

The challenge

How do you introduce something new without confusing the audience or crowding the ecosystem?

Altaviva had to find its place within an already successful portfolio. It needed to communicate clearly, complement what already existed, and serve as a tool for patients and providers alike to better navigate care options.

The solution

We launched Altaviva, a brand built for motion, possibility, and optimism.

“Alta” suggests elevation and forward movement. “Viva” evokes vitality and a life lived more fully. Together, the name feels welcoming and energetic: a brand that inspires patients to take the next step.

We helped Medtronic define and articulate a clear portfolio strategy. Altaviva became the embodiment of that strategy: a brand that supports earlier intervention, speaks to a different patient mindset, and lives comfortably within the Medtronic family without blending into it.

With differentiated messaging and a distinct visual identity, Altaviva clarified its role as a new entry point in the OAB journey. We brought that clarity to life through internal training tools, patient-facing communications, HCP education, and sales enablement materials all designed to awaken alignment across teams and channels.

The results

Altaviva strengthened Medtronic’s presence in the OAB space by expanding reach without sacrificing focus.

It offered a broader view of what personalized care can look like and inspired a more inclusive portfolio story that supports long-term growth and more individualized treatment decisions.
